Why is Vital to Create Self-Care Habits? And stick to them!

Have you been struggling to find some time for yourself? Have you Not been spoiling yourself regularly? Did you know self care is absolutely critical for your wellbeing?

Busy women (every one of us, right?) are making ME Time their priority. In fact, it’s absolutely vital and nonnegotiable! Until recently Me Time was considered as luxury but luckily these times are over. The reason being, every smart woman knows now that if she wants to function well and meet every requirement of her life – supporting her family, looking after her elderly parents, managing workload at work or as business woman, being a great wife, contributing to the community or making a difference to on a global scale…. you know what I’m trying to say, right? All these activities cannot be done 100% without unplugging from the hectic lifestyle from time to time. Well, ideally regularly.

Let me cover what self care is not!

Taking selfies of a smiley face to show your friends on facebook or instagram despite the fact that you feel exhausted!

Also don’t be mistaken that self care is only for rich white women! And that your friend may feel funny about you when you share you practice self care. You are too posh! Ah no! It’s absolutely for everyone. More important now then ever before actually! it’s vital to find peace of mind

I’m talking about self care rituals you repeat daily.

By the way, when was the time you have taken care of yourself?

If you don’t know where to start, here are some ideas.

Self care means for example:

  • Go to bed each day at the same time
  • Eat organic, nourishing food
  • Meditate
  • Take a bath with some essential oils to help you relax
  • Write a diary – journaling
  • Be Grateful – create a gratitude habit
  • Reading for 15 min something inspiring like a biography
  • Exercise  – one hour of yoga, pilates, circuit….
  • Bubble bath, face mask, spa day…
  • Switch off your phone, ipad, mac, desktop 1 hour before going to bed – allow yourself Detox Digitally!Even better allow yourself a whole day with no electronic device! Create a wifi free day or weekend.
  • Day dream
