How does it make you feel when spring in full bloom and you find yourself outdoors more? Well, nature is a wonderful place to transform, awaken and often help find a boost in creativity. It’s important that we make an effort to reconnect with Mother nature for our overall health and wellbeing.
Grounding used in the past
Throughout history, people have grounded themselves in nature. That is, they have found peace and tranquillity in their surroundings. Native Americans for example, believe that they are a part of nature and not separate from it, as many people might experience today.
Help yourself, help Mother nature
Even if you already go outside every day, you can still find new ways to reconnect with Mother Nature, and maybe you can also help make a positive impact on the environment. When we combine our small, everyday actions, we can make a more connected and healthier world for ourselves and future generations. This might be the start of a new nature-focused routine that can last a lifetime…
Help plant a new life…
There is no better way to honor Mother Nature than to plant new life such as a tree, flowers, a vegetable garden, etc. Or join others in volunteering actions to tidy up a community garden or plant new trees and flower beds in the local neighborhood. Emerging ourselves in the Wellness Community spirit can offer us a chance to not only socialize and meet new people but most importantly reconnect with Mother Nature whilst having fun. Go on, challenge yourself and let me know how you did it. I’ll be happy to hear from you.
Make contact with the Earth…
Taking our shoes and socks off whilst outside and sinking our feet in the ground beneath us gives us the feeling of being grounded.1 Going out in nature and reveling in its beauty, its stillness, and its wisdom allows us to recharge and become more recentred. To help you reconnect with the planet Earth while indoors, Nikken is offering great SAVINGS OF 20% on the KenkoGround from today until the 30th April 2021. Discover more at: www.nikken.com/eu/rise
Let’s celebrate Earth Day together!
Unplug from Technology…
Smartphones, tablets, and computers to name a few, are a huge part of modern life, but sometimes it’s necessary to unplug to give ourselves space to really connect to what matters most. According to research from Rescue Time2 most people, on average, spend 3 hours and 15 minutes on their phones. If you unplug from technology, think of all the free time you’ll have! You’ll also be doing your bit for Mother Nature – as you reduce your energy consumption and shrink your carbon footprint. Let me know how you feel when you unplug just for one day in a week!
Take your daily activities outside…
Exercising outdoors carries many benefits both physically and mentally. Yet another great way to reconnect with Mother Nature. Meeting a friend? Go for outdoor activities such as a picnic or a walk in the park. When are you taking your friend for a walk?
Bring Mother Nature Indoors…
There are a few ways to bring nature indoors such as getting some house plants (such as the Peace Lily, Spider Plant, or Devil’s Ivy(photos to name a few have air-cleansing properties). Keep windows open if weather permits. This will help cleanse the energy (Qi) in the house, giving it a more relaxing and natural atmosphere.
Reduce Plastic Usage…
When plastic isn’t recycled it can release toxic chemicals into the air we breathe as well as nearby water sources. This can create a variety of health problems for both humans and animals. Plastic is everywhere and sometimes unavoidable, but there are ways to reduce plastic usage. Some of these ways include using a recyclable and reusable water bottle such as the PiMag® Water Bottle, avoiding items sold in plastic containers, bringing your own mug to a coffee shop, and not using plastic utensils and straws. The PiMag® Water Bottle is environmentally responsible in many ways. For example, the biodegradable bottle shell (containing no BPA or other potentially harmful compounds) eventually breaks down into natural soil nutrients. With a replaceable filter cartridge, the PiMag® Water Bottle eliminates the need to purchase bottled water thereby helping to reduce plastic usage and your carbon footprint.
Reconnecting with Mother Nature doesn’t necessarily mean you have to spend a week camping and hiking to the top of a mountain. Nature is a place to connect to your true self so whatever it may be, go outside and start reconnecting!
